iPhone 16 Pro CAD renders show new dedicated ‘capture’ button | Technology News

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 Pro model is expected to feature an additional button on the right side of the device, according to new CAD renders shared by 91mobiles. This “Capture Button,” reportedly equipped with capacitive touch functionality, is rumored to enable advanced camera controls such as adjusting focus, zoom levels, and serving as a trigger for photo and video capture.

The introduction of a dedicated camera button follows in the footsteps of last year’s iPhone 15 Pro, which debuted the Action Button. While the Action Button’s precise functionality remains somewhat ambiguous, the Capture Button’s purpose appears more clearly defined, catering to the needs of photography enthusiasts and content creators.

Beyond the addition of a new button, the iPhone 16 Pro is anticipated to maintain a familiar design language, albeit with a few notable tweaks. The device is expected to retain the Titanium frame and rounded corners introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro series, while featuring slightly thinner bezels and a marginally larger overall footprint.

The same report revealed that the iPhone 16 Pro will measure 149.6 x 71.4 x 8.4mm, making it slightly taller, wider, and thicker than its predecessor, the iPhone 15 Pro. This dimensional increase could accommodate a larger 6.3-inch display panel, an upgrade from the 6.1-inch screen found on the previous model.

While some leaks suggest a radically redesigned camera bump, these new renders indicate that Apple will likely maintain the familiar protruding camera module first introduced with the iPhone 11 Pro series in 2019.
